Stowarzyszenie Festiwal Kultury Żydowskiej
Józefa 36
31-056 Kraków

One of the largest festivals in the world presenting the Jewish culture.

It is one of the oldest and largest events of its kind in the world. This prestigious cultural and educational occasion presents the authentic contemporary Jewish culture from Israel and the Diaspora. In particular, there are performances of Jewish folk and classical music, Klezmer and synagogue music, also films, performances and exhibitions. One of the regular events on the programme is the hobby workshops (workshops of Hasidic dancing and singing, klezmology, Hebrew calligraphy and Jewish cuisine). In last year’s 20th festival over 250 artists, lecturers and instructors took part from many countries but mainly from Israel and Poland. Over 250,000 people from all over the world came to Kazimierz in Cracow to take part in more than 200 events that contributed to the anniversary Festival of Jewish Culture. The 1st Festival of Jewish Culture was held in Cracow in 1988 and its programme was centred on an educational session devoted to the meeting of cultures – Polish and Jewish. The then small event has grown over the years. In 2011 the festival took place in Cracow’s Kazimierz district between 24 June and 3 July.
