Golesz is a geological reserve with the area of 27.45 ha, located in the municipality of Kołaczyce. It includes Ciężkowice sandstone rocks, a hornbeam and oak forest, early medieval settlements and ruins of a medieval castle

The name "Golesz" once meant "bare". Centuries ago, the hill was probably not covered with trees and towering over the Wisłoka River it was a good place to set up fortifications. A wood-earth stronghold was probably established already in the 9th century, and the stone castle was built in the 14th century; its remains can be seen today.
