Lech Hill

The historical place – Lech Hill in Gniezno is located by the shore of Jelonek Lake.

Probably a fortification complex was built here in the 10th century which consisted of a borough – the prince’s seat and 3 smaller boroughs surrounded by ramparts made from wood and earth. It’s the oldest part of the city where Gniezno’s most important historical sites are located, i.e. Assumption of the Virgin Mary, St. Adalbert Archcathedral Basilica and Archcathedral Museum.
