Information

Festival of Dialogue of Four Cultures in Lodz was organized for the first time in 2002 as a initiative of Witold Knychalski. The idea of the Festival was to promote the dialogue between cultures (especially those forming the old Lodz: Polish, German, Jewish and Russian), to stimulate artistic life in Lodz and build the image of the city as a place with fascinating past, which seeks the actual identity by remaining open for other cultures and convictions. Since that time the Festival contributed to the promotion of Lodz, which now is more often treated as a unique place on Middle-East Europe’s map: as a great crucible of culture, deriving its strength from the intercultural dialogue.
